Councillor expresses Health Concerns

7.14.54pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 21st Oct 2009

Cambs Liberal Democrats Health Spokesman, Cllr Geoff Heathcock has expressed his growing concern (as confirmed by the Care Quality Commission's report) of the ability of the East of England Ambulance Service to give the level of service expected - and what it tells us about the level of demand and level of resources that are available

'It is clear this service is under some pressure and we need to identify what is being done to deal with it effectively and quickly. Cat A calls require an 8 minute response and Cat B calls a 19 minute one. We need to ensure these are being met.'

It is also becoming clear that the Mental Health Service provision especially for Adults, is suffering from real problems and I will be seeking some clarification of the hotspots when I

meet the Chairman of the Trust in two weeks time. With more and more people being effected by mental health illness, service quality and availability has to up its game.'
