On Your Bike for Bike Week3.22.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 12th Jun 2009
Tomorrow Saturday June 13 is the start of Bike Week and the Liberal Democrats in South East Cambridgeshire are urging everyone with a bike to use it just once during the week in place of a car journey they would normally make. Jonathan Chatfield the Lib Dems' parliamentary spokesperson for South East Cambridgeshire and a cyclist said: "We recognise that not every car journey can be replaced by using your bike, but we bet there will be at least one journey that could be made on two instead of four wheels. "We want people to give it a go and then let me know how they got on. Not only is cycling good for your health, but if many more people did it there would be greater pressure for safer routes and better facilities. "The feedback I receive will be passed onto our local councillors to help them in their push for a better deal for cyclists from the county and district councils."
