Guided Bus project 'going off the rails' say Lib Dems6.38.42pm GMT Tue 13th Jan 2009 The Conservative run County Council is gradually coming clean over the Guided Bus. At a briefing this morning, invited attendees were told that:
David Jenkins, leader of the County Council Lib Dem opposition comments, "No mention has as yet been made about what we believe to be an increasingly difficult financial situation. For months now the Tories have tried to dismiss the concerns of the Liberal Democrat Group out of hand, but as we can see, the predictions we have been making about the difficulties are sadly turning out to be true." "The buses will no longer serve Hinchingbrooke Hospital as originally planned - now, for many months they will not serve Addenbrookes and South Cambridge either." "We now await, with trepidation, to hear how much this project will REALLY cost Cambridgeshire residents."
