Lib Dems welcome extended Air Ambulance Service

Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats have given a very warm welcome to the news that Anglia 2 - the East of England Air Ambulance will now be available for 7 days a week to give significant air support for those either very ill or involved in accidents and needing very urgent transport to Hospital.

Their Health Spokesman Cllr. Geoff Heathcock said "This is absolutely brilliant news at a time when the helicopters are in growing demand and their attendance is so vital - particularly when more and more serious road accidents block the pathways for land based vehicles. The shame of this situation is that a vital piece of equipment has had to be paid for by voluntary fund-raising rather than being seen as a core part of the NHS"
