Dental review - about time say Lib Dems!

Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats welcome the independent review into the access to NHS dentistry as extremely timely -when the County faces unprecedented levels of growth.

County Health Spokesman - Geoff Heathcock said "From time to time we meet residents who simply cannot get access to NHS treatment and are either forced to go private or decide to ignore oral health which can have serious consequences not least amongst which is mouth cancer."

Government in their normal dogmatic way brought in new contracts from 2006 which have pushed more and more Dentists into the private sector because of the flat salary system, which provides no incentive whatsoever to engage with preventative work which enhances and improves long-term health.

Geoff adds, "Let's hope this review properly addresses these issues."
