Newmarket bus saved

No 46 bus to Newmarket

The 46 service to Newmarket on Tuesdays will continue

Cost cutting continues at Shire Hall. The 46 bus was under threat of complete withdrawal. It's well used on Newmarket market days.

Cllr Trisha Bear says "When I've used the Tuesday bus, it's usually nearly full by the time it gets to Newmarket. Taking it off would have been a real blow to older people." Following pressure from the Focus Team and Parish Councils, the Council has agreed to keep the Tuesday service running.

"It's disappointing the Saturday service was cut," says Trisha, "but the good news is the Tuesday service will revert to its old times, leaving Linton at 9.20 and returning at 1.10. That means people will have nearly three hours in Newmarket, with time for lunch before coming home."

The new service starts on 5 January.
