Continuing guided bus misery for Histon and Impington

7.12.06pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 10th Mar 2008

Gatehouse Lane has finally reopened, but the late running work at Station Road continues to frustrate villagers, visitors and traders.

These simultaneous road closures have caused a good deal of disruption - especially as they have gone on for longer than was originally planned.

Such has been the annoyance of residents and traders alike that the County Council has agreed to Councillor David Jenkins' request that the whole sorry saga be subject to public scrutiny. It will go to the relevant scrutiny committee in March.

And with there being no sight of the guideway even at the Oakington junction we wonder why Gatehouse Lane had to be closed before Christmas in the first place.
