After many years, the developer has installed dog and litter bins on the open space 'Woodland Walk' between Columbine Road and the A10.

Ely West District Councillors Sheila Friend-Smith and Sue Austen have been pressing for this for some time.

"The opening from the path onto Downham Road has also at last been properly completed," said Sue.

The timings on the pedestrian crossing outside the High Flyer on Newnham Street have finally now been altered.

County Councillor Simon Higginson got a promise from the County Council to change the timings before he stood down as a district councillor earlier this year.

It should now take only 30 seconds after pressing the button before the green man appears, compared to up to 1 minute 40 seconds previously.
