Ely campaigners Gaynor Griffiths and Nigel Bell discuss the plans for a new transport interchange at Ely's railway station.

Preliminary work has already begun on the new transport interchange at Ely station.

Work will provide better access to railway station

The Liberal Democrat championed scheme will provide access improvements for station users, particularly cyclists and pedestrians.

District Councillor Nigel Bell said: "We insisted that planning gains money from developers was rightly spent on this scheme rather than being used to subsidise motorists using the new Angel Drove car park."

New car park will be self-financing

The scheme, passed unanimously by Council, means that the new car park costing nearly £1 million must be self-financing.
