Concern increases over recycling centre

Liberal Democrat Councillors share the increasing concern of Trumpington and Great Shelford residents over plans for a Household Waste Recycling Centre to be positioned on the south side of the new Addenbrookes access road.
The site, which is part of the Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough Minerals and Waste Plan is on Green Belt land.
Lib Dem County Councillor for Trumpington, Caroline Shepherd adds, "This matter comes before the County Council next week. While there is still a long way to go, it will be interesting to see how the Conservative administration at Shire Hall reacts to the increasing concerns being expressed by residents. This seems a peculiar recommendation. There are other brownfield sites available, so using valuable Green Belt land seems inappropriate."
