A new Police Station for Linton?

We revealed plans to close our area's local Police Station in Linton. Since then, County Councillor John Batchelor has met with the Chairman of the Police Authority, Councillor Keith Walters.
John reports "I expressed the local community outrage at the news and the complete lack of consultation. Councillor Walters said their was a commitment to a police 'presence' in Linton. But he would not say what a 'presence' means."
"Linton is where our Police Community Support Officers are based. If they are moved to Sawston or further away, policing in our villages will suffer.
"Many people took up our plea and wrote to the Police Authority. I'm sure that has played a major part in making them think again.
"Nearly everyone who answered our survey wanted a local Police Station kept and suggested using the Linton Fire Station site. I've passed your views on and will be urging the police and Fire Service to consider this."
