Soil is delivered to Haddenham Recreation Ground as work gets underway on the new sports pitches.
Plans to create three football pitches and a cricket square at Haddenham Recreation Ground, which was hit by a catalogue of delays, is back on track.
Work is being carried out to level the ground, add sub soil and seed with grass ready for the summer.
But the project has been far from plain sailing after it was hit by delays waiting for a grant and a licence to lay the soil to be approved.
Just when it looked like the project would be up and running again, the credit crunch hit local building sites drying, up the supply of soil. Then several falls of heavy snow added to the problems.
Now, however, the bulldozers have moved in and work is well underway.
Haddenham parish and district councillor, Gareth Wilson said: "We had our fair share of unforeseen problems but everything is back on track.
"Once the new pitches and cricket square are completed they will be an excellent facility for the village and we hope they will see a great deal of sporting action in the coming months and years."
