Broken Budget promises - again!

Liberal Democrat County Councillors have condemned the Council's Conservative administration for once again breaking its budget promises to the electorate.
A recent announcement to axe some rural bus routes was claimed to be necessary to enable the Council to maintain funding for adult and children's social services.
County Councillor Nigel Bell said "This happens every year. A budget is set with insufficient attention being given to vital services and then, less than half way though the year, the Council has to rob other departments in order to balance the books."
