Lib Dem Health and Adult Social Care spokesperson, Geoff Heathcock, has condemned poor service for vulnerable adults by Cambridgeshire County Council.
Councillor Heathcock made the criticism as the full meeting of the County Council discussed the independent CSCSI report which gave Cambridgeshire just one star for adult social care for the 5 th year in a row. He said:
"Cambridgeshire County Council has scored 1 star for adult social care for five years in a row, this is just not acceptable. We get endless action plans and assurances from the Council that things will improve but we have been waiting in vain.
"Far too many of our vulnerable people have to wait unacceptable lengths of time for any services at all. Too many people remain in hospital too long waiting for appropriate care packages.
"Report after report has criticised the failings of Cambridgeshire adult social care provision and yet despite all the reports and many action plans, the service has not improved."
