County Councillor Nigel Bell (right) explains to Little Downham campaigner Bruce Haley (left) and Cllr Gareth Wilson (centre), how the Liberal Democrat alternative budget would have reduced the cuts to front-line services and reversed the cuts to bus services and mobile libraries.
Vulnerable people in East Cambridgeshire are set to lose vital services as a result of cuts by Cambridgeshire County Council.
The council has handed down devastating cuts to services in an effort to bring down huge budget deficits.
County Councillor Nigel Bell said "Yet again the Conservative-run County Council has had to admit that its budget for last year was inaccurate. As a result of their mismanagement, it is the most vulnerable people who will suffer."
Vulnerable will suffer
A massive £2.6 million will be cut from care of the elderly and disabled.
The Meals on Wheels service will be cut, meaning that fresh meals will be replaced with frozen, and support for children with sensory impairment will be cut by £200,000.
Library cuts
In addition to the reduction in bus services already announced, further cuts totalling £50,000 are to be made, while two mobile library services will be axed.
